Introducing a new method …
7th grade students need practice on how to TPRS. I couldn’t figure out why my first period was so flat, and then I realized that I needed to backtrack and actually teach how I expect them to learn.
8.My lesson seemed confused by introduction of 24hr vs informal time. I sepnt a lot of effort teaching the 24 hour clock, then told them not to use it in the “informal.” Better to teach 24hr, then re-teach formal time (or hit 24-hour harder in 7th grade), before moving on to the “informal”
Pd7 - I pulled in my lower scoring 7s to talk about their challenges. Some were way thrown off by the computer test, others just didn’t expect to have to know the spellings of words. I have to keep an eye on these kids to make sure that they are doing ok on the online version, and some will benefit from a paper option.
