Computer Housekeeping & Telling time
7th grade spent the whole day racing through the process of logging into the computers to add personal information & most importantly Student IDs. Problems: students forgot binder minders, syncing took a long time, so my ultra-short day six period was entirely consumed.
In the 8th grade period over lunch I implemented a snack on the long day. This period is about 56 minutes, 15 minutes longer than any other class. Other teachers who teach in this period use it to refocus the kids and to give them a bit of energy in the period before lunch. I’ll try it and see how it works out.
Today’s 8th grade was mostly spent reviewing the time, checking homework and showing the students the resources available on Blackboard.
